The Pecan pie will have to wait... again. It will be part of my Christmas dessert table... along with these.
I first saw these ABC (already been chewed) cookie cutters on Baking Bites and thought they were amazing. I wanted to again needlessly spend money on more kitchen equipment. But then I decided that this was something I could do myself. So what did I do? I baked the cookies and then I snapped their little legs and hands off as I quoted the Gingerbread Man from Shrek: "You're a monster! No, not the gumdrop buttons!" And then I ate them.
It's a cruel, cruel world.
Click herehttp://splendidtable.publicradio.org/recipes/dessert_sugarcookies.shtml for the cookie recipe and click here if you don't have the heart to rip those delicious little legs off yourself.
LOVE those cookie cutters... I have a set but haven't broken them out this year. Guess I need to do that soon! ;) Cute faces on those little guys, too!

First of all, your website is adorable! I just forwarded your peppermint bark recipe to my friend who just discovered it and hasn't been able to find it anywhere. Added you as a friend on foodbuzz so i hope to get more sweet recipes from you!

lol. I love this idea. The expressions you put on them are just too cute. Gives a nice twist to the usual happy smiley gingerbread men.

Awesome, love them!
Reminds me of an Easter comic I saw once. Two chocolate bunnies, one with an ear bitten off and the other with a bite out of his bum. The one says to the other, "My butt hurts" and the other says, "What?"
