I love Ina Garten.
There, I said it.
There are several gems on the network. Giada. Duff and the gang from Ace of Cakes. Tyler Florence.
And Ina Garten.
Everything about her show is soothing. Her home (is it in the Hamptons? I like to imagine that it is). Her trips to the markets where she seems to be surrounded by gorgeous strawberries no matter what the season. Her bright and airy kitchen. Her loving husband Jeffrey.
After a 30 minute episode, I feel as if I had just spent 2 hours in a day spa, pampered by women with soothing voices and soothed by mellifluous sounds of ocean waves and new age music as I sipped on cucumber and lime infused water and noshed on gourmet nuts.
Rosemary Roasted Cashew gourmet nuts.
These are phenomenal. Spicy and sweet, with the flavor accented by my favorite herb - an earthy rosemary. There is not much to say about these nuts other than the fact that I think they are a must-make from here on out. They take all of 10 minutes to put together and are absolutely addicting. I made them as part of a large basket of food I made for my mother for Mother's Day, and she could not stop eating them. They were a huge hit. I had to stop myself from stealing them from her.
Rosemary Roasted Cashews (Adapted from Ina Garten)
1 1/4 pounds cashew nuts
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1/2 teaspoon cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
DirectionsPreheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the nuts on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until they are warmed through. Meanwhile, combine the rosemary, pepper, sugar, salt and butter in a large bowl. Toss the warm nuts with the rosemary mixture until the nuts are completely coated. Serve warm.
I love Ina too. =) All of the recipes I've tried from her have been awesome and she always makes such yummy looking things. Sounds like an awesome food basket for your mom!

Ina is the best celeb chef is you ask me. She has a way about her that is just so organic and calming. I so wish I could be on of her fabulous friends and join her for lunch or dinner in her amazing Hamptons home. (Yes - she lives on the Hamptons and my boyfriend and I have thought of just driving around and looking for her and Jeffery one day...we HEART Ina). And her recipes are fantastic. I have a few of her books and I have yet to be disappointed by one of her creations.

I have to agree about the Food Network. There are plenty of chefs and programs that I am not a fan of... but there are quite a few that I do like. I also enjoy watching Ina Garten... when I grow up, that's who I want to be :)
These cashews sound delicious - your mom is lucky!

Perfect description of watching an episode of Barefoot Contessa. I've always liked her, she doesn't make anything weird - just good stuff with lots of butter!
My husband loves cashews, when he comes back from his trip I'm going to make them!

I agree...I love Ina. I watch the Food Network...everyday! I get a lot of inspiration from it...plus its how I initially learned how to cook! I love making roasted nuts...they taste so much better that way!

I love Ina too. I think she's the real deal. I feel like she had already established herself before she landed on the Food Network, which distinguishes her from some of the FN chefs. I like her style, and her recipes rarely disappoint. These cashews sound incredible!

YUM! They sound delicious. I think I'm actually going to make my xmas gifts this year: bags of granola and baked goods. I think these cashews may make an appearance too.

I don't watch Ina but I will if it yields such delicious goodies! I love spice nuts but cashews and rosemary sound like the ultimate combo.
